Peggy Brightman is a dancer, choreographer,
and dance educator with over thirty years of professional experience in the field of Modern Dance. She studied with Merce Cunningham, Jose Limon, Martha Graham. Louis Horst, Bessie Schoenberg, Murray Louis, & Bill Evans, and many others.
For ten years, Peg was a principal dancer with Concert Dance Company --a National Touring Company. Peg was the artistic director and resident choreographer for two dance companies in Boston, receiving grant support from the Mass. Council on the Arts. After moving to Maine in 2001, she founded Moving Spirit Dancers, an intergenerational dance ensemble; in 2012, she created Moving Spirit-Vermont.
As a master teacher, Peg directed the modern dance program at the Walnut Hill School for Performing Arts. She has presented classes and workshops and performed across the Northeastern U.S., and abroad.
After founding Moving Spirit in Maine, Peg recently relocated to Woodstock, VT, where she currently works with Moving Spirit-Vermont, continuing to create dances for performances.
