Today I decided to re-name my blog after my last dance company -- MOVING SPIRIT --a favorite metaphor for what has animated my life for the past 60 years! In Maine, I worked with more-or-less the same talented group for many years-- a beautiful collection of very individual dancers-- with diverse backgrounds in modern dance, ballet, martial arts, ballroom, and eurythmy--ranging in age from late 20's to early 80's!
I'd like to dedicate my blog to MOVING SPIRIT DANCERS and their incredible creative, loving energy, which sustained the group and me between 2004 and 2012!!

Hats off to my initial group, which included Paula and Susan -- both with a lovely and kind performing energy! Then Leah, who joined us for a time, before moving on. Then to my most recent group, which, over time included:
Don--- an actor gifted in improvisation and choreography, whose dignified presence helped to ground us;
Dalziel-- delightful graduate of Hampshire college struggling to create her own organic farm;

Cheryl-- a former professional with Ram Island Dance Theatre who could still knock everyone's sox off;
Rob --a transplant from New Zealand whose creativity combined karate and performance video; he did all the heavy lifting--with grace and without complaint!
Lisa-- a lovely mother whose gift for delicate expressivity kept on giving--to us and to audiences;

Jessica -- a professional pixy who could do anything and everything at lightning speed!
Terre- a former ballet diva whose elegant leg still reached to the sky at age 82!
Donna-- whose backgrounds in ballroom and folk dance definitely spiced things up!
Dear dancers--keep on dancing and sharing your light. I miss you greatly! Of course there are also dancers here in Vermont--but no one will ever replace YOU in my warm & joyful memories!
